Dr. Samya Bahram is an esteemed Consultant Family Physician with extensive experience in the medical field. Currently serving as Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health at Ministry of Health, she also holds the position of Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine & Medical Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU) Bahrain.
Dr. Samya Bahram's leadership skills have propelled her to achieve remarkable milestones in her career. Her abilities as a leader enabled her to attain the position of Chief of Medical Services at Primary Health Care in Bahrain and then to her current role as Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health in Bahrain. Dr. Samya has demonstrated her proficiency in strategically managing healthcare services, implementing policies, and overseeing public health initiatives for the betterment of the community and population at large.
She has a strong interest in furthering medical knowledge, research and education has contributed to the field through numerous publications. Her dedication to education is evident in her 17 years as a Consultant Medical Tutor, where she has provided comprehensive courses on communication & counseling skills and trained under and postgraduate residents on professional conduct, ethics, and obstetric screening ultrasound skills.
Additionally, Dr. Samya has played a significant role in premarital counseling in Bahrain. She has been instrumental in developing service guidelines and conducting workshops for physicians in both the government and private sectors.

A graduate of Kuwait Medical University M.B.B.CH medicine and surgery, joined Kuwait Family medicine residency program and earned the certificate of Kuwait Board of Family Medicine and MRCGP (INT) in 2006.
With the passion of clinical training, teaching and mentoring residents, became a certified trainer and examiner in FMRP and tutor in faculty of medicine- Kuwait.
With all the enthusiasm, determination, and commitment I have shown, in addition to the continuous support and trust of my colleagues, I have been appointed as chair of Examination in FMRP since 2014 till now.
I strongly believe in the importance of patient’s empowerment toward better health and morbidity prevention, so I was keen to expand my expertise in smoking cessation field, in which I received my certificate as counselor of smoking cessation from King Hussain cancer center.

Currently works for the flagship health project for USAID in Jordan as the team leader for the primary Health Care in Health Service Delivery Improvement Program.
Dr. Saleh M Alrajhi is a highly accomplished medical professional specializing in Family, Obesity, and Lifestyle Medicine. He currently serves as the president of the Saudi Arabia Lifestyle Medicine Group.
Education and Certifications: Dr. Alrajhi’s journey in medicine began in the United States, where he became Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1998 and again in 2012. In 2004, he achieved Obesity Medicine Board Certification. His pursuit of knowledge continued with the attainment of the International Board Lifestyle Medicine certification in 2019, granted by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine, and King Fahad Medical City. In 2017, he completed an Executive Master of Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota, USA.
Professional Experiences: Dr. Alrajhi has held several prestigious positions throughout his career. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a Consultant of Family and Obesity Medicine at McLaren Healthcare System in Lansing/Okemos, MI, USA, and Sparrow Health System, GG Messenger Dermatology, Lansing, MI, USA. He continued in this role at Austin Medical Center, Mayo Health System, Austin, MN, USA from 2000 to 2005. In 2005, Dr. Alrajhi moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he joined King Fahad Medical City. He held multiple roles here, including Consultant of Family and Obesity Medicine, Executive Manager, Medical Director, Trainer, Lecturer, and Founder of Obesity and Lifestyle Medicine. He also served as the Vice President of Hail Health Cluster for primary care, public health, population health management, and research. He played a significant role in COVID-19 screening and vaccination, as well as in the transformation of healthcare gates.
Dr. Tarawneh has 36 years’ experience in PHC field either in public or in private sector in Jordan; he was tutor, master trainer and examiner. Furthermore he worked as coordinator for family medicine residency program in the Jordan Royal Medical Services.
He was a chief of the department of family and emergency medicine for 6 years, and the director of a 200 bed hospital for four years while serving in Jordan Royal Medical Service (RMSs).
Other experiences ; As an examiner in Jordan Medical Council and member of the scientific committee in the faculty of medicine of M’uta' University for 2 years and Arab board external examiner, he has an extensive experience in developing the training programs for family medicine while in RMSs as the chair of Family and Emergency Medicine department.
He was a WONCA EMR president from 2013-2018, and WHO external advisor as well during this period.
He was one of Jordan Society of Family Medicine (JSFM) founders in 1993, and JSFM president for one term, and the acting JSFM General Secretary.
Dr. Huda Al-Duwaisan is a graduate of Kuwait University’s College of Medicine and has received her fellowship in family medicine from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of General Practitioners She is currently the head of the Yarmouk Primary Health Care Clinic, which is recognized as the first healthy city in Kuwait by the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, Dr. Al-Duwaisan was the previous head of the Primary Health Care Faculty at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization, serving a tenure between 2008-2022. At present, she is a trainer and examiner in the Family Medicine board in Kuwait. Dr. Al-Duwaisan also previously served as the head and one of the founders of the Association of Family Physicians and General Practitioners between 2008-2021. She remains the vice head of the Yarmouk District Council.
He got his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Saud University in 1982, Higher diploma as a GP in Family Medicine, same university in 1986. He has been a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP) since 1989 and a fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (FFPH) since 2003

He was the Director General of the Executive Board Health Ministers’ Council for the Cooperation Council States for more than 16 years. He is now the General Secretary of the Arab Hospital Federation, as well as Deputy Chairperson of the Arab Union for Governance. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mahrezi is a senior consultant family physician and is the Director General of Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. He is the President Elect of WONCA EMR since June 2021 and the former President of Oman Family Medicine Society. He completed his residency training at McGill University in Canada and completed fellowships in Palliative Medicine, Pain Management, and Academic Family Medicine at University of Toronto during the period from 1998 until 2004.
He had also served as the chairperson of Family Medicine Education Committee in Oman Medical Specialty Board during the period from 2007 until 2017. He has interest in chronic diseases, pain management, and medical education. He is an Associate Editor of Oman Medical Journal (OMJ) and Sultan Qaboos University Medical Journal (SQUMJ). He has several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Asma Al Shidhani is a consultant family physician in Sultan Qaboos University hospital. She graduated from Sultan Qaboos University. She holds an OMSB Family Medicine Specialty Certificate and an Arab Board Family Medicine Certificate. She is the president of Oman family medicine society and the chairperson of the family medicine program examination committee. She has special interest in examinations, medical education and research. Dr. AL Shidhani is involved in different types of undergraduate and postgraduate education and assessment development activities. She has several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals in topics related to family medicine and has a role as a reviewer for several medical journals. She is advocate for high quality, evidence-based patient care.
Dr. Wadeia Mohammad Sharief is the DIO and has been the Director of Medical Education and Research Department in Dubai Heath Authority since 2018. Apart from being a Consultant Family Physician, she is also the President of Emirates Family Medicine Society and President of Family Medicine Scientific Council, Arab Board of Health Specialization and Chairperson for MRCGP Royal College, UK. Subsequently, continuous learning is highly significant for her, which is why she has extensive academic achievements. Dr. Wadeia received a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, followed by another Master’s Degree in Post Graduate Medical Education in Keele University. She had served in Medical Education leadership since 2010 recently has been appointed as a Professor on September 2021 mainly in Dubai Medical College and Sharjah University.
She is providing an effective leadership and efficiency in developing competent future individuals in the field of Medical Education and accordingly received numerous awards in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and Resilience in Medical Training. She is considered a leader in Graduate Medical Education in Dubai, UAE and a role model for all program directors and residents. Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla is a Senior Consultant of Family Medicine, the Executive Director of Operations at Primary Health Care Corporation PHCC in Qatar, and the Deputy National Lead for Mental Health & Wellbeing in the State of Qatar. Additionally, she serves as a Faculty in Family Medicine Residency program at Weill Cornell Medical College.
As the Executive Director of Operation at PHCC, Dr. Samya has been instrumental in designing and delivering a comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated primary healthcare system that places the patient at the center of care. She oversees 31 health centers at PHCC, and under her leadership, the implementation of the Family Medicine Model and establishment of Regional Specialist Centers, the integrated services like integrated mental Health, Regional specialist Health Centers, and 24-hour urgent care, the improvements in referral pathways, has significantly improved patient access to services. Dr. Samya has also made significant contributions to the fight against diabetes and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She has chaired several committees to identify and manage diabetes effectively, implementing measures to combat this disease and improve patient outcomes.
As Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for the Community Screening and Vaccinations Health Tactical Command Group, Dr. Samya has been at the forefront of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to her significant contributions to the field of healthcare operations, Dr. Samya has published several research papers on mental health and chronic diseases. She is a sought-after speaker at various international and local conferences, reflecting her expertise and dedication to her field.
Dr. Muna Taher Aseel is a Senior Consultant of Family Medicine and the current Program Director of ACGME-I accredited Family Medicine Residency Program (since Apr 2016), West Bay Training Center, HMC-PHCC. Since 2005, she has been Arab Board certified in the field of Family Medicine and has worked professionally until now in the field of Family Medicine under Primary Health Care Corporation. She is currently the Asst. Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, and holds an M.D. degree from King Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia (1999). She develops a strong interest in pediatrics, diabetes, bronchial asthma, mental health, medical ethics, medical education, healthcare leadership and management. She co-published several research on diabetes, obesity, depression, and healthcare management. She is involved in various committees both internally under PHCC and externally.
